Our Staff

Karen Moreschi has been the Director of Sonbeam since March of 1990. She has a Bachelor in Business from Portland State University. Karen has three grown children and two grandchildren. Karen enjoys music and travel. She participates in the choir at Temple Baptist Church. She enjoys travel, attending theater performances and concerts.	Ms. Lindsay came to Sonbeam in 2009 after completing her Bachelor in Education at Warner Pacific in Portland, She has experience in competitive gymnastics and uses those skills in teaching movement and gymnastics to the children at Sonbeam. She is also involved with the dramatic arts and music program with the children. Lindsay is the Program Director of the school and maintains the communication with the families.
Ms. Barbara has been at Sonbeam since 1986. She is the teacher with our youngest children. Barbara greets the children and parents as they arrive each day in her position as our 'Opener' at 6:30 AM. Her class always is enjoying tasty learning experiences and crafts!
Ms. Vicki has been involved in childcare for 23 years since completing her degree at Judson Baptist College. Her experience at several other daycares helps her bring new ideas to Sonbeam. She has been on staff at Sonbeam in many different positions including Director but she likes teaching children best. The Blue Jays class is enjoying Ms. Vicki. Ms. Vicki and her husband, Mr. Tim have adopted two children from India and stay busy with soccer, school and reading.	Ms. Rhoda is the teacher in a Pre- Kindergarten class. She has been at Sonbeam since 1996. Before coming to Sonbeam she worked in other childcare facilities and in a variety of positions in food manufacturing. Many of the children in her class begin to see her as a 'grandma'.
Mr. Kris is the Lead Teacher in the afternoons. Kris has eight years of experience with preschoolers and elementary children in a variety of programs in both public and parochial environments. Kris has his Associate degree from Mt. Hood Community College and a Certificate of Completion from the Paraprofessional Program with Professional Career Development Institute. You may have seen him at the Rose Garden working the suite level for Blazer games, a position he's held since 1998.	Ms. Ashley is a student at Portland State University and Portland Community College and works part time as her classes permit. She has been at Sonbeam since 2003. She works with the school-age children fulltime during her academic breaks. We love her interesting curriculum and artistic projects. Human Anatomy and Dental Hygiene are her favorite subjects to teach to our school-age children. Her 'boyfriend', Bob the skeleton, often attends class with her dressed in his tuxedo from his prom date.
Ms. Anna graduated from Benson HS. She enjoys working with children and animals. Anna is a quilter, plays soccer and works with the Junior High youth at her church.	Ms. DeLouisa has been cooking at Sonbeam for more than 20 years. She has four grown children and enjoys all things Disney.

Experienced, qualified teachers supervise the learning activities and care for Sonbeam children. Teachers and aides are required to continue their education by enrolling in relevant classes and workshops.

CERTIFICATION
Sonbeam Day Care Center is licensed by the State of Oregon and maintains and complies with rigid health, fire, and sanitation requirements. Enrollment is open to all children without regard to race, color, religion, age, disability or national orgin.
